Time of possession was 28:18 to 16:40 in favor of PHS in a game played most of the fourth quarter under clock-running, shortening rule.
Sylas Cheuvront led the way for PHS with three touchdowns and 66 yards rushing on nine carries while Ethan Jones ran for 75 yards on 15 carries and Alex Greer ran for one score and passed for two more as he totaled 202 yards with 89 rushing on nine attempts and nine pass completions in 15 attempts for 113 yards.
Adam Elder and Devin Widman led the defense that thwarted the Warriors at every turn.
Riverside rolled the dice early, attempting a fourth down run and needing three yards near midfield but Jackson Roe and Cheuvront stopped quarterback Tavion Woods a yard shy and the Big Reds took over on downs at the Riverside 48.
Three plays later Greer scored when he faked a handoff and kept the ball up the right sideline to score with 8:42 on the clock in the first quarter.
Riverside’s next possession saw Cheuvront block a punt with PHS recovering on the visitors’ 13 yard line. Cheuvront then ran right up the middle for a touchdown to make it 12-0 with 7:33 on the clock.
Cheuvront added another TD run with 2:31 left in the first period to make it 19-0 before the Big Reds put together a classic scoring drive, going 81 yards on 11 plays and taking 6:21 off the clock before scoring on a 14 yard pass to Tytan Parsons.

Jones was the workhorse with seven carries but the touchdown came on a brilliant 35 yard reception by Brady Thorn, who out-leaped a defender and came down with the ball just inside the goal line for a 34-0 margin on the scoreboard.
PHS added two scores in the fourth quarter on a three yard run over left tackle by Cheuvront with 9:41 on the clock to begin the game-shortening procedure and then Austin Jones tacked on a two yard touchdown run with 3:02 remaining as Big Red reserves finished out the victory.
